Enjoy Life More

Believe it or not, we have a lot of control over your life and what happens each day. Happiness isn’t just a “feeling” and it depends a great deal on habits and way of life.

We can all get in a slump sometimes, so if you’re feeling that way, know that you are not alone.. However, it doesn’t mean it has to stay this way. Instead, taking a few positive actions can help better outcomes.

Here are some thoughts on how to enjoy life more.

It is my Universe, after all.

Try on a Little Confidence

Life can be tough as a shy person who lack confidences. This is a space I know well. Often people doubt that I am shy because i can be loud and wacky, but is often covering up huge internal turmoil, especially in a crowd or with new people. The upside is that it is possible to boost your confidence when you are willing to put in the work.

From one introvert to others:
Don’t be afraid to step outside your comfort zone.

I try learning a new skill — they are a pile of Pinterest-fails, but that is okay. And my followers know the value I put on trying out a smile when you walk out the door. Things like posture and how we carry ourselves make a difference!

Stand tall!

Get Cooking

One activity that can be quite rewarding and enjoyable is cooking. I have begun making it a bigger part of my routine. It saves money and helps with portion sizes by not having to eat out as much. I mean… seriously, DoorDash has gotten PRICEY!!!!

It isn’t hard to find recipes to try such as this authentic kafta. I know I love a home-cooked meal and when I can say I made it? I swear it tastes better. The more comfortable in the kitchen you become, the more you can start experimenting with recipes. Start slow and make sure your kitchen is set up to be functional for cooking and moving around in the space.

Keep it Moving

Another tip to enjoying life more is to exercise and stay active. This is a great opportunity to unplug from your devices and technology. Instead, we can start to challenge our bodies physically. It’s important to mix up the routine to challenge different muscle groups regularly. I find (when I follow through) that it reduces stress and I sleep better at night.

Don’t however, do what my husband does. He goes from couch potato to wannabe Olympian in a start. Remember to take it slow. Listen to your body and set aside rest and recovery days into your routine.

Get active with friends - a double win!

Keep Them Close

If you are lonely or feel isolated, it takes a negative toll on your mental health. Connecting with others and keeping a social calendar that gets you out the door and off the couch can fight those blues. As social beings, we need to create healthy relationships with others but also, maybe more importantly, make time to nurture these connections. These are the people you can lean on when the facing challenges come. And they will. No person lives a life without speed bumps. They are also the ones to cheer the loudest for your accomplishments!
