Fun from X,Y, to Z

When you think fun, what do you think?

Over the course of my years, arcades played a big part. Later, came Atari, bringing the fun home. Then one big name came to dominate home video games - Nintendo.

Mushrooms and Power Ups

For the Gen-Xers, two games came with our Nintendo game system - Duck Hunt and Super Mario Bros. In this incarnation, it was a 2D world filled with bricks, jumps and lots of mushrooms.

As the years went on, the game evolved through multiple incarnations with the GameBoy, the Super Nintendo, the Wi and so forth. As it grew, it met the needs of each generation becoming 3D, adding characters, and even carts. Yes, Mario Carts became essential to the Mario World, some would say replacing the classic game in its prominence.

Fun for X, Y, and Z

In the new film, The Super Mario Bros Movie, we follow Mario and his brother Luigi through an adventure that reflects all three of the generations. From bumping heads and eating mushrooms to carts and Princess Peach, Gens X, Y, and Z will enjoy seeing our heroes traverse through all these worlds fighting a lovesick Bowser along the way.

Watching this film with little ones was proof positive to me that it truly is a film for all ages. As summer is in full swing and we’re all looking for ways to keep them happy, a family movie night might just be the answer. The Super Mario Bros Movie is available now available on Digital, 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray™ and DVD. So pop some corn and settle in for a night of fun.

But wait, there’s more…

This movie has made me nostalgic. My husband gave me a SuperNintendo for my 21st birthday. I sure wish I had it to play today.

Here’s to a fun day whatever you’ll be doing and let me know what you’re past past gaming history was for a chance to win the film.
