Strike a Pose - Boost Your Confidence

We all want to feel a lot of confidence. I refer to it often as #shinebrightly. While that is something that I firmly believe is an inside-out process, I also know that we all feel better with some boosts to the outside, as well. Why else would I share my favorite beauty and fashion finds? There are other ways to give us that feeling, however.

It is my Universe, after all.

Learn a Skill

Developing a skill can make a huge difference in confidence levels. For me, true confidence comes from that quiet voice inside that knows what I can and cannot do. It grows as I work over time, and I build them up. When I learn something new and expand that, it is a high. As I devote some time each day to developing my skills, so also grows my confidence.

Now if you feel overworked and thinking, “I don’t want anything else on my plate, Traci!” I get it. This can be fun. The skills can be learning to knit. Learning to cook your grandmother’s sauce. Learning to put on those magnetic lashes you bought last year, but have sat in your drawer all this time. All of these things can provide a boost.

Dazzle That Smile

Everyone knows I love a great smile. It’s kind of my thing, Few things are a greater share of confidence to me than a beautiful smile. And while the eyes are the heart of a smile, I know the impact of teeth on a smile. Oh, if you knew what dental work I have been through… I knocked out three teeth in a car accident as a 16yo. I have had other tooth loss due to health issues and it really can affect confidence. I truly recommend visiting the dentist and getting any work done that you need. It has all kinds of health benefits and I truly believe that once you are happier with your smile, you will find you’re more confident in other situations.

Strike a Pose

Sometimes, it really is simple. To build up our confidence, those things our parents told us actually can work. (Insert groans here.) To feel more confident immediately, simply standing tall can be effective. I have also heard it referred to as striking the Wonder Woman pose. I shall take that. Linda Carter or Gal Gadot - either way, they definitely #shinebrightly in or out of costume.

Seriously, though, doing this has a way of actually improving your feelings of confidence at the moment. Stand tall. Respect yourself. If you are imagining a pink-clad Madonna, I won’t argue. This is exactly what I am imagining. This doesn’t come easily to me, so visualization is EVERYTHING. Try it, however, because, just like everything else in life, it’s a muscle. Once you do it, the second time becomes easier, and so on and so forth.

Be Generous

#bekind

Nothing makes me feel better than being kind and generous to others! It is at the heart of my YouTube show “the pebble” and I promise it will have a strong effect on how you feel about yourself. The kinder you are, the more brightly you will shine — you can’t help it. It comes from inside. This is something that is not necessarily immediately obvious, but again once you start doing it, you will find that the results are profound. TRULY. I know when I started focusing on the needs of others instead of my perceived failings, it changed my life. I promise if you do the same, it will make a huge difference in the long run to how you feel.
