It is my Universe, after all.

Currently, I am trying out aromatherapy. It’s an age-old natural therapy with ancient civilization origins. Wow, that sounds smart, doesn’t it? IT means that it has a history. Someone didn’t just come up with it last year to sell it to you. So let’s get comfortable, and take a journey!

What Is Aromatherapy?

Aromatherapy, in its core essence, is the art of healing with fragrant oils extracted from plants, flowers and herbs. Think nature’s own pharmacy full of potency-boosting remedies. From inhalation to topical application; aromatherapy offers numerous ways for its practitioners to practice its healing powers.

Now if phrases like “healing powers” send a bit of shivers through you as you imagine Nicole Kidman and “Nine Perfect Strangers”, it’s okay. It just means that before we had CVS on every corner (I mean, seriously, EVERY corner) people still had aches and pains and they sought out remedies. Many of these oils were the sources of those remedies, thus “healing powers”.

Mental Health

Did you know that just inhaling essential oils can actually do wonders for your mood? Aromatherapy offers an instant emotional lift and mental health boost. Lavender in particular works like magic to reduce anxiety and tension levels quickly. Who doesn’t love a lavender candle? While citrusy scents can transport us directly to a happier state. Providing instantaneous solutions to dispel depression or combat negative thoughts and memories.

Physical Well-Being

Aromatherapy is more than just for your mind. It works wonders on your body too! For headache relief, try peppermint oil. Its powerful anti-inflammatory properties make it an invaluable ally when fighting headaches. I personally have used peppermint oil for years. Muscle soreness from yesterday’s workout sessions are met by Eucalyptus oil as a soothing spa day treat for incredible soreness relief.

Sleep Quality

Now, night owls - here’s something just for you!

Are you like me and fed up of counting sheep?

Well, meet chamomile. This soothing flower acts like an instantaneous lullaby to aid sleep and induce peaceful slumber. Okay, this is new to me and I am all over it!!! Or evidently, for even better dreams, ylang-ylang might do the trick. No more tossing and turning in bed, with the help of aromatherapy, we may be lulled into restful sleep.

If you need a bit of extra help, couple your aromatherapy with cbd oil. It’s another holistic way to get to sleep quicker and can work wonders for your mental health. I have been adding it to my routine and have become a fan for stress relief.

Immune-Boosting

Aromatherapy doesn’t just reduce stress - it seems to give your immune system a real boost. Tea tree oil, the superhero of essential oils, acts as an immune fortress against those pesky germs. So if you want an extra barrier against coughs and colds, reach for the oil diffuser first.

I just got my diffuser and I shall let you know my honest opinion on how it works for me.

Precautions and Usage Tips

Before embarking on an essential oil journey, let’s address safety.

Safety first

Even natural remedies require caution. Diluting oils may seem counter-intuitive, but they’re actually really potent. Dilution can give the health benefits, without some of the downsides. When in doubt consult an aromatherapist or healthcare pro for expert guidance and guidance.

Before setting out into the sunset on an aromatherapy adventure, remember - unlocking its potential lies with high quality oils and follow your heart. Accept whatever scents speak to you; allow them to work their magic in your daily life from lavender to eucalyptus or even tea tree oils.

So, aromatherapy can uphold spirits, soothe bodies, and even strengthen immunity. It’s not magic, but its effects can really make a difference. I am giving it a go and I’ll share my real experiences.. Will you allow its wonderful fragrances take you away on their healing path? Sorry, I got caught up in a Calgon take me away moment there…

Seriously, though, enjoy sniffing away, and maybe a certain scent will accompany you on your wellness journey. Let me know what if any aroma speaks to you.

Do you have a scent that speaks to you in your health journey?
