A Star in My Own Universe

Star Trek: Prodigy

I remember seeing Star Trek: The Motion Picture in 1979 at the age of eight. It was pretty profound in my childhood. Before I had seen a few episodes of the original 1960s series, as well as the 1970s animated series on various syndicates runs.

Since then, Kirk and his team have had more than one incarnation, and other Captains have flown to go where no others have gone. Into this front has entered an animated crew for the 7+ crew, alas perfect for my 1979 self and for the 2023 crew — Star Trek: Prodigy.

Star Trek: Prodigy, Season 1

Beaming up a new generation

A motley crew of young outcasts must figure out working together while navigating a greater galaxy, in search of a better future. They know nothing about the ship they have commandeered. Over the course of their adventures together, however, the six will each be introduced to Starfleet as they come together as a team, and the ideals it represents. The team navigates cosmic collisions, explores new planets, and find themselves along the way in ten adventurous episodes.

Star Trek: Prodigy

I really like these themes. They follow up one many of the healthy diversity of its path but with a new voice for GenZ. You can check out the trailer here:

My friends at Paramount and Nickelodeon want one of my viewers to bring home this new crew. And you know me, I never make a lot of hoops to jump. Simply leave me a comment letting me know if you ever watched Star Trek and if so, which crew was your favorite.
