A Star in My Own Universe

The Lights are Still Shining

With everything on the news lately, you wouldn’t be alone in seeking something to binge as an escape. And with the holiday weekend coming, one that is kid-safe and kid-approved is a win. Well, I have one to offer.

For the purpose of this review, I received a free membership to #Pureflix.
All opinions are mine. It is my Universe, after all.

Previously, I shared that I was enjoying several series over on the Pure Flix platform. Among them was a delightful cartoon called “Anthem Lights”. Yes, as in the faith-based band. Whether you know the band or not is not a requirement, however, for enjoyment. The tongue-in-cheek self-aware quality of the show makes it fun for anyone.

Warning: you’ll likely become a fan of the band in the process.

Anthem Lights is not feeling like a big deal on the Music Cruise

They’re kinda a big deal

The band breaks out into song at restaurants and outlet stores to the great chagrin of a beleaguered employee of both. He is not a fan. But less of a fan is “Handsome Knights”, a rival band always looking for the quick trick to fame.

In the episode, “Music Cruise”, the band is hired for, you guessed it, a music cruise while the Knights decide to sail the seas, too, in an effort to write sea shanties. Neither path goes as expected but that is why you watch.

So, if you need a break that you can actually encourage your kids to sit down and watch with you, “Anthem Lights” fits the bill.

If you don’t have Pure Flix, you can sign up for a free 7-day trial. Check out the “…Lights” and let me know what you think.
