A Star in My Own Universe

The Outsider

Do you ever feel like there is an Outsider lurking in the midst? Out there on the edges of society? Watching you and your family? What if that Outsider could become an Insider?

Believe the Unbelievable!

I was gifted a DVD set for the purpose of this review.
All opinions are mine. It is my Universe, after all.

That terrifying premise is at the heart of the HBO Series “The Outsider” based on the Stephen King novel now out on DVD. That is also about as much as I can share without screaming “SPOILER ALERT!”

I can and will say this. I loved it.

Also, don’t watch it alone. If you are quarantining by yourself, get a viewing partner. It’s a slow build but it will have you questioning everything, as you go along.

Spooky does not begin to cover it.

Oh yeah, and did I mention Stephen King?

The cast is extraordinary including Oscar-nominated Cynthia Erivo, Ben Mendelsohn, Marc Menchaca, Mare Winningham, and Julianne Nicholson. There is not a weak link in the group nor is there a celebrity vanity project, Just solid acting, scene after scene; episode after episode telling the story!

Warning: If you start, you won’t want to stop. This is pure binge material!!! So pop the popcorn and settle in for a long night’s journey into an inside-out world.

And because it’s my Universe, an extra shout-out to my old friend and school-mate, Derek Cecil, who has a pivotal role in the show.
