Tomorrow's Yesterday

40

Tonight is the last night  of my thirties. When I wake tomorrow morn I will no longer start my age with a three. So goodbye thirties... You brought me highs and lows, tears and joy. I lost New York but I gained a family. I saw a lot of doors close but I am learning to see the windows when they open. For those of you who have been with me since I was 38 and Growing, I may be 40 but I hope I am always growing,While I am not sad at this passing, I do find it hard to believe.  I could have chosen the old "You say it's your birthday" but instead I went with a Beatles classic... (There is not a shadow hanging over me. I just love the song and it seemed a little poignant tonight.)YesterdayAll my troubles seemed so far awayNow it looks as though they're here to stayOh, I believeIn yesterdaySuddenlyI'm not half the man I used to beThere's a shadow hanging over meOh, yesterdayCame suddenlyWhy sheHad to go I don't knowShe wouldn't sayI saidSomething wrong now I longFor yesterdayYesterdayLove was such an easy game to playNow I need a place to hide awayOh, I believeIn yesterdayWhy sheHad to go I don't knowShe wouldn't sayI saidSomething wrong now I longFor yesterdayYesterdayLove was such an easy game to playNow I need a place to hide awayOh, I believeIn yesterdayGoodnight, sweet thirties. Good morning even sweeter forties.
