I Just Called to Say...

I love you.

I'm sorry.

Thank you.

I call to tell my mom these things on an almost daily basis. I do it because I am a mom and I owe her all of those hundredfold.

Yesterday was one of those days wherein I realize just how much my mom did for me and how often I didn't say these things. The past three days, my husband was out of town. In those three days, I have become a daisy leader, led a cub scout meeting, bought supplies for said meetings and a 2nd grade caterpillar project, helped create the caterpillar, taken the dog to get groomed and micro-chipped, oh... heck I'm just exhausted thinking about it all. Let's just say that the last 72 hours have been CRAZY!

So as I am pushing my cart around the store trying to find a Kiwi for my daughter's class fruit salad and listening to my daughter tell me everything she wants for her birthday (next February), I am feeling it.

Feeling. It. All.

Let's put it this way, the cashier was ready to give me a hug. So I called my mom to say all of these things...“I'm sorry. Thank you. I love you.”

And you know what she said to me?

“It's okay. You're welcome. I know. And I called my mom to say the same things”.

I guess that makes it a tradition.

I just called to say

I just called to say
