What's Happening -- McDonald's and Cuties

Back in November, I was invited to attend a lunch at McDonald's hosted by the Orange Wall Collective. It was a terrific opportunity to learn about McDonald's new commitment to adding healthy options to their menus.

They are providing transparency on their menus as shown here:

And on their website:

Changing. Together. You told us you're trying harder to be more nutrition-minded for yourself and for your family. We listened. That's why we have been accelerating our efforts to serve food you feel better about eating and to help you make informed nutrition choices.

This is especially true of their Happy Meals.

You can "build a meal" and get the calorie count and other nutritional info.

Hamburger

Hamburger

A juicy hamburger with kids sized world famous fries, apple slices and your choice of fat free chocolate milk, low fat white milk or apple juice.

They now offer juice and milk instead of soda, and recently added a very bright option --  Cuties! Not too long ago, I got this amazing box.

Cuties offer 4 gram of fiber and are full of Vitamin C!

But almost as important to a parent, they are so yummy. (Because if they don't like them, they won't eat them!) It has brought smiles to our home for days now! Now through the 15th, as supplies last, they will be part of the new options that include Go-Gurt and apple slices.

We checked it out ourselves.McD 3McD 4 And it was a hit! A big thank you to Cuties and McDonalds for the box of mandarins. My family enjoyed them greatly!
