Friday Fragments #23 - Olympic Edition
Happy Friday! Today is another installment of Friday Fragments, an offering of Mrs. 4444s over at Half Past Kissin' Time. It's a place to throw down those random thought and gatherings. Today my thoughts are running Eastward to Sochi. The Olympics are coming to an end soon. I am always a little split on the Olympics. In one way, they show me how mighty the human can be. But in other ways, I feel pretty flimsy in comparison. This is especially true after the last two months of illness. I admire the single-mindedness that creates that kind of success. I clearly do not have said single-mindedness; as my fragmented Fridays often reflect.I did remember, however, an old post on my first blog that I wrote about Mommy Olympics. It's a look at what we moms do as we move through our days. Also, my best to all the Olympians. I don't agree with the old Nike ads that "you don't win silver, you lose gold". (Though I know the U.S. women's hockey team does not agree right now.) If you can call yourself an Olympian, you are an incredible athlete. Of course, right now, if you can do 20 sit-ups you look pretty good to me!Also, I did love this ad from Nike and it is a good reminder to me that it doesn't matter where I am, I just need to start! So that's my Olympian Fragments. Please check out the wonderful Mrs. 4444s over at Half Past Kissin' Time for other fragments.
