Share the Love #4 - We Are Momo
It's Saturday and we're sharing the love! If it's your first time here, Priscilla aka Wheelchair Mommy and I have begun a Saturday linkup. Knowing that our friendship sprang from blogging, we want to spotlight those bloggers who bring something special into our lives through their blogging. Some we know IRL and some are the modern day pen-pal sharing their hearts with their words.

Being a mom is hard. We all pretty much know that. If you are a mom, you know it. And if you had a mom, you should know it. So yep, that covers just about everyone.
But how about being a Step-Mom?
Many of us have neither been one or had one. How much credit do we give those parents who may fully parent with their heart but may never hold the place of "Mom"?And we all have reasons to hate them, right? Whether it's Grimm's Fairy Tales or Jane Austen, we all know that Step-Mother is out to get us. And the trail of breadcrumbs always leads home AWAY from these conniving women. Thus begun, "We Are Momo".
WHAT IS A MOMO?
Simply put, Momo is a new title for Step Moms. The most rewarding, heartbreaking, thrilling and powerless title to have in the parenting world.
Tired of seeing only negative representations of Step-Motherhood (Is that a word? Well, it is now.), Amy Heunik Zimmer decided to create a place where motivated, loving, and positive Step-Mothers could share their stories and be inspired. Momo comes from the name she created with "her boys". They were conflicted by using "Mom" and "Step-Mother" certainly doesn't bring bedtime cuddles to mind. Now I had the fabulous opportunity to meet Amy at Mom 2.0. It was the opening dinner and we stumbled upon each other. She is a blonde dynamo and I immediately fell in love with her heart and spirit. When she told me about her boys and her blog, I knew it was something from deep within. At the end of the evening she said, "Traci, I think we are going to be wonderful friends." I almost cried. And yes, we are wonderful friends.I am not a Step-Mother. My children do not have a Step-Mother. But I would hope that if for some reason, my husband were to remarry even if I were still alive and just hating his guts, that the next woman would hold my children dearly in her heart every minute that she spends with them. In other words, I would love them to have a Momo.
