Tramp Stamp Momma, Yes I Am!By Educational Local Austin Blogger, Momma’s Bacon So, my blog focuses on education. So here’s a tip for you kids, “DON’T GET A TATTOO”.Unless, you really, really, really know what it could do to you for the rest of your life. Let me share my personal story…… It took about two seconds after turning 18 for me to get a tattoo. At the time in SE Ohio where I went to college and lived my entire life, I didn’t have time with work or school to follow social media like now. I just liked tattoos. I wanted one, but knowing I would get a college degree, I also liked the thought of getting employed, so I chose a spot…you know….sorta secret, I thought. I loved it at the time…it was like my little secret. But, now at almost thirty-five years of age I have two horrible things to admit. DUM DUM DUM……

  1. I have a ‘tramp stamp’. You know the now ‘infamous’ place that kids in the 90s apparently got tattoos and are now considered symbols of ‘loose’ ladies and men. At the time I got it, it wasn’t a ‘thing’…or if it was I didn’t know – I swear. Sigh.

  1. What I thought was a cool tribal sun on the wall of a tattoo parlor in Athens, Ohio, turned out to be the sun ‘tribal’ avatar on Lotus Notes. Yeah, beat that! Sure, it may have been an ancient tribal sun, but not having ever used Lotus Notes at the time, I didn’t realize it was a WIDELY USED SIGN. It wasn’t ‘special’ like I thought. Le sign again.

Tribal (Cite: http://thelyricwriter.hubpages.com/hub/Tribal-Sun-Tattoos-And-MeaningsIs that the sound of all my 40, 000 subscribers clicking ‘do not follow’ icon all at once? Wow. Where is the LOVE? How Did This Happen To Me?!? I’m shy, I’m demure, yes, I’m even a bit of a *GASP* PRUDE! Here you go…..my reasons for getting inked at the tender age of 18 years (and 23 seconds?):

  • The sun come from a few things in my life; Soleil (as in Soleil Moon Frye since I was said to look like ‘Punky Brewster” by my grandma) and being nicknamed Sol in high school by my not-so-great ground o’ friends….but you know, they meant a lot to me then.

  • The tribal sign was a personal rebellion based upon a nasty break-up of my first boyfriend and then-stalker. It symbolized life and it is a part of every living thing in the world. I felt alive for the first time in a long time when I broke up with him.

So, there is my little secret. It’s out! Make fun of me all you want! I am not longer embarrassed by my little o’ tramp stamp.  I guess you could say that I AM a working momma analyst by day, tramp stamp momma by night. And, it makes me laugh because I’m the furthest thing from a loose lady! So perhaps, let’s just appreciate art for what it is; personal and beautiful and not something made to be embarrassing or ugly to the owner. I still love you my little Lotus Notes Tribal Sun Tramp Stamp Symbol! And (more importantly, wink) so does my hubby. ;-)MB Oh yeah, professional on the top and ‘Party in the………lower back’? I guess I don’t get the ‘tramp stamp’ fascination, but loved my tattoo when I got it. Still do. So there. J***Thanks, Mommas Bacon, for your Award-Winning Guest Starring role in My Universe. You are on the Walk of Fame!
