Friday Fragments #41 -- Reasons to Smile

Miley-Collage.jpg

My kids have kept me smiling this week Here are a few examples:To begin, my daughter told me in her most grown-up voice, "Mommy, you get overly excited about the silliest things". So true; as anyone who has read my blog would know. :-)

My kids were talking in the backseat. Little Diva was looking at a postcard we received from Philadelphia. The conversation moved to the Liberty Bell and other historical sites. Sonny Bunny says "that's where the first White House was". I say overly excitedly, "that's right. You are so smart!". His answer... "Jeopardy".

I made a promise to my children this week -- I will always have paper. My kids love to draw and write which makes me happy. As attached to their electronic devices as they seem to be, few things are better than a pile of paper. My daughter wanted to draw and asked me "Mommy, can we always have paper to draw?" Yes, yes we can.

I will end with my big laugh for the week. Little Diva has been cleaning out her horde of toys including her Barbies. She found an older one and decided that she would like cut her hair. She brings me the recently shorn doll and declares, "look Mommy, it's Miley Cyrus".Miley CollageAs I struggled to swallow my laughter, I said "why, baby?". "Because of the hair. She looks just like Miley." I exhaled until my son came in and said "where's the wrecking ball?" Then, I couldn't control the laughter. Little Diva just looked at me like I lost my mind. But then again, I get overt excited about the silliest of things.
