Shining the StarlightIt's Veterans Day and as I do every year, I want to celebrate and share the companies offering discounts and freebies to Veterans and Military. It takes a lot of sacrifice to be a military family and I personally appreciate organizations that honor the service. 

Restaurants

 Applebees: Free meal from a selected menu (Beverage not included). Proof of service required. Check out website for details.Also, check out the Thank You Movement.Boston Market: Get a free dessert with Military ID and the purchase of a individual meal. Also there is a  10% all month in honor of Military Appreciation Month.Boston Market 

California Pizza Kitchen: Enjoy a complimentary entree from a special menu, dine-in only.

Chilis:  A free entree from a select menu (Beverage not included).

Denny's: From 5 a.m. to noon at all participating Denny’s restaurants nationwide, diners with a valid military ID will receive free Build-

On a personal note, many Denny's offer servicemen and women in uniform discounts year-round. We have personally experienced this kindness.

Golden Corral: On November 17th from 5:00-9:00, Golden Corral will host its annual Military Appreciation Monday dinner.  More details can be found here.

Hooters: Receive a free entree. Present a military ID or proof of service.

Krispy Kreme:  Present your ID and get a free doughnut and coffee.

Little Caesars: Free Crazy Bread. Present valid ID.

Olive Garden: Free entree for Vets and current military on Veterans Day.

On the Border: Bring proper ID or proof of service and get a free "Create-Your-Own-Combo" meal.

Outback Steakhouse: One of my favorites -- they are giving away a Bloomin' Onion and beverage on the 11th and then (and here's the part I love!), they offer a 15% discount for active and former service members through December 31st.

Home Depot: Veterans get a 10% discount today. Home Depot offers active military a 10% discount year round.

Lowes: Veterans get a 10% discount today. Lowes Stores offer active military a 10% discount year round.

Amusement Parks

Seaworld Parks: I love Seaworld and am currently a Wildside Blogger for Seaworld San Antonio. Long before being an ambassador for Seaworld, however, I wrote about what great supporters of military families, Busch parks are. As a part of Waves of Honor, today, veterans can get 50% off general admission and all year active military get free one day admission for themselves and up to three dependents.
