It's a New Day

It's a new dawn.

For a few weeks now, I have been vague booking about our future. No longer! Here is the plan. Star Family, newly retired from the military and currently being retired as a DOD civilian will be hitting the road.We have purchased a 32' foot travel trailer and an appropriately big truck with which to pull it and are going to travel the country in 2015.. We want to visit all contiguous 48 states. We're taking a step off the beaten path (a BIG step) allowing our wanderlust to take flight.

It's a new day.

Now if you're saying "that sounds like the coolest thing I ever heard!" I think you're right. We are super excited. If you're saying "that's the craziest thing I ever heard!" I think you are also correct. Two parents + two kids+ one dog - 1200 sq. ft. = CRAZY TOWN! This is ,without question, the coolest and craziest thing I have ever done.I also really believe that it is the right thing. After years of time missed away from his family, Mr. Hero is embracing the opportunity to reconnect. The kids are old enough to really appreciate and learn from the experience but young enough to still like us. With his early retirement, we are being afforded a very rare chance and we want to seize it!

It's a new life.

Now being a blogger, you know, I'll be writing about it. Just in case you don't want to know what it's like to live on the road, no worries. I am starting new blog. If you want to follow along, we'll be at Star Family Travels (currently Under Construction -- stay tuned).smallstarfamilyadventuresheaderNow, this is a pretty big change to my Universe so of course, you'll hear a little bit about it here. Not gonna lie. But this Star still wonders about motherhood, loves showing off pictures of her two too-smart-for-their-own-good kids, thrifting and tackling, and tis still rying to find her path. It's just the path will be rolling.Do you have a crazy dream?
