What's Happening -- Lost Pines Christmas
Here's a question to my central Texas friends. What do you think when you hear Bastrop? A stop along the trip between Austin and Houston? Bucee's? The place where they had the terrible fires?I would have said "yes" to all three. Sadly, that was where my knowledge ended. But then I received an invite from the lovely Joleen of 365 Things to Do in Bastrop, Texas. On Thursday, Lost Pines Resort hosted a wine tasting event across Main Street. Okay, I admit it, she had me at "wine". But there was so much more.Bastrop has a lovely Main Street reminiscent of a time gone by. The streets are lined with older buildings filled with thriving stores, restaurants, and bars. I was pleasantly surprised. (Forgive me Joleen for not having checked out your lovely town sooner!)Well, Thursday's "Swirl" event was the kick off to Lost Pines Christmas. A weekend long event that includes carriage rides, ice skating, and of course, Santa! I had such a lovely time sipping wine while I discovered the Lost Pines Art Bazaar, Liberty Glenn, and the Colorado River Winery, just to name a few. I will definitely be heading back with the family to explore! I hope you will check it out. I learned that Bastrop is much more than I knew. It's What's Happening!Check out Joleen's blog for all the details!
