Rolling with the Pink Truck
Have you ever met someone and know immediately you want to be a part of their dream? I did last year. I was attending an event for Dr. Smith's in Boston and met Dana Babbin. As we chatted about diaper rash and other Mommy needs, she told me a story.See Dana had two beautiful twin girls. And these twin girls were girly girls except... they loved trucks. In fact, they loved anything that would go. But finding clothes for girls with trucks (or trains or planes) on them was near to impossible. There were tees and shorts for boys but nothing that satisfied these transportation princesses or their momma. Thus was born Pink Truck! When I heard this story, it resonated so deeply with me. See I have a tomboy princess. She loves her pink and purple and frill but she also loves science and engineering and other "boy" subjects. I knew in an instant, she would love these clothes. This dream has taken 3 1/2 years bringing the once 18 month old toddlers to the age of five but it is now a reality. Cute shirts and hoodies for girls and women of all ages. Tell me you're not dying from the cuteness? So, way back at that Boston event, I told Dana to contact me when she was up and running because I wanted to support her. I really believe that there are many little girls and frankly, some boys who would want this. Need this! And a few weeks ago, she did. I was so excited to find her email in my inbox. She was kind enough to send Little Diva and me shirts. Here we are proudly wearing ours. (Can't tell you how many compliments we got!)But really, all this comes back to a momma and her fierce desire to bring her daughters what they wanted. So here's what it's all about. Meet Dennehy and and Gia Quinn.Women like Dana are my heroes. They see a need for their children and they don't just sigh and shake their head. They make it happen. And I want to make it happen for her.Later this week, I will be hosting a giveaway in support of Pink Truck. I hope you will check her out. And if you, like Dana and me, have a special little one who would like a broader definition of what girls and boys like, please check out Pink Truck.
