Love modern dance? This Saturday, April 18th is your chance to see 23 modern dance companies on one place! Kathy Dunn Hamrick Dance Company is hosting the Austin Dance Festival. Austin, dance A national collection of established and emerging choreographers, the festival was the brainchild of Kathy Dunn Hamrick, and acclaimed choreographer and director of the festival. “The Austin arts scene is continually in the national and even international spotlight, in part, due to its festivals,” she says. “However, there is currently no vehicle to bring modern dance companies together in a festival-like setting. Also, this weekend, Whip In, the popular Austin convenience store, café and liquor store, will support the Kickstarter campaign to return Little City Coffee Roasters back! An Austin icon that left our little city a few years ago, is getting a relaunch from Joel Shuler, founder of Austin-based Casa Brasil, and a small crew of java lovers.A free Little City coffee-tasting event will take place on April 18 from 10 a.m. to noon, during Whip In’s regular Saturday brunch. Attendees will get their first chance to taste the Little City coffee blends and micro-lots. It's a fun chance to participate in Little City’s Kickstarter campaign while enjoying some Little City coffees and gear.
