Welcome to Friday Fragments. If you haven’t fragged before, Friday Fragments is a place to share those thoughts, quips, and tidbits that don’t quite make a whole post, e.g. fragments or frags. I host every Friday and would love for you to join in. Please link up and visit other Fraggers.

Friday Fragments with Star2 Wow! Fragments is about all I am at this point. Since last week's post, I have ridden thousands of miles in a truck with my two children, hubby, and a dachshund. When I typed my last set of frags, I was sitting at the Oregon dunes. 2400 miles and five days later, we pulled into my parents' house in Houston, Texas. To say I am all over the place would be an understatement. The hours traveling were spent reading Percy Jackson aloud to my kiddos, singing along to Taylor Swift and Maroon 5 with my daughter and listening to "Aladdin 3: Return of Jafar" played over and over. I think I can quote the entire film at this point.Despite the stress of such an extended road trip, we are here safely. The kids did exceedingly well - exceedingly well for 8 and 11 year old siblings, that is. We are reconfiguring our travel plans as we have some business with the government and this trailer needs a little lot of love.

I can't let the day pass without acknowledging that this is the 14th anniversary of 9/11. The day still holds a lot of strong memories and mixed feelings for me. The day dramatically changed the trajectory of our lives. It seems even more odd as we now sit on the other side of retirement. It was, of course, the impetus for hubby joining the military.I still remember the men and women who didn't make it home that day. I still hold them and their families in my thoughts and prayers. May God bless them all.

On a much brighter note, my brother married his love five years ago today. It is a much happier anniversary to remember and I wish them all the best. Cheers to them!

Finally, I will end with another funny overheard moment. Usually, my children hold their dad up on a very high pedestal while good old mom is nothing special. That being the case, this particular moment was especially funny to me.In a discussion with Little Diva, my husband off-handedly said "well, what do I know?" In all earnestness, she shook her head and with a sigh said, "Not enough, Dad. Not enough."Hubby looked at me and we both laughed. It was a rare moment for him to wear the other shoe but he took it in good humor.

That's my collected frags for the week. How was your week? Any travel or memories to share or funny things overheard? I wish you all a safe and happy weekend.
