Friday Fragments #13
Welcome to Friday Fragments. If you haven’t fragged before, Friday Fragments is a place to share those thoughts, quips, and tidbits that don’t quite make a whole post, e.g. fragments or frags. I host every Friday and would love for you to join in. Please link up and visit other Fraggers.

Welcome to episode 13 of Friday Fragments! Unlike triskaidekaphobics (people scared of the number 13, evidently a large enough group to warrant hotels pretending that they don't have 13th floors), I love the number 13. It is my "lucky" number. I am not sure why. Maybe because my birthday is 7-6 which adds to 13? I don't know but as per usual, I have begun my fragmenting with a ramble.

I recently had a moment that made me feel all of my 44 years. I was driving my parents' car and turned on the radio. "White Wedding" by Billy Idol came on and I was happily jamming along. My inner 15 year-old was in her groove. Then the station identification came on. I was listening to the "classic rock" station. Yep. Billy Idol is a classic which means I am old enough for my music to be deemed classic. OUCH!

I recently re-watched "Brave" with Little Diva. Boy, do I love that movie. I enjoy it as an adult and I really enjoy it as a mom to a very strong young lady. While watching, Little Diva announced,"Mommy, I love Merida. She's beautiful and a tomboy like me."Pretty awesome. I couldn't agree more.

This month, I am participating in Alex's Million Mile Challenge. It celebrates the life of Alex Scott, a beautiful child who succumbed to cancer in 2004 while doing her best to find a cure with her lemonade stands. With the million mile challenge, the goal is to have supporters walk, run, or bike over a million miles in the month of September. My goal for the month is to walk 100 miles and I hope to raise at least $200. If you'd like to support my walk, my page is here.

Finally, today I will be traveling to Dallas, Texas for the BlogElevated conference. I'll be joining my bloggy BFF and IRL friend Priscilla aka Wheelchair Mommy in a weekend of growth and community. I wish you all a wonderful weekend.
