Austin, TX – Central Texas’ most well-known children’s theatre company, Pollyanna Theatre, is offering a special, short spring session of classes for the month of May. Offerings include ‘Make a Scene’ (May 18, 25 and June 1 from 10:30am – 12:30pm) and ‘Drama Fun Fridays’, (May 20, 27 and June 3 from 10:30am – Noon).

Judy Matetzschk-Campbell, Ph.D., Founder and Artistic Director of Pollyanna Theatre Pollyanna Theatre Company offers year-round classes for all ages of homeschool students. For this special, short session, however, two classes are offered:

MAKE A SCENE(For ages 7-11) Wednesdays - May 18, 25, and June 1, 10:30 am - 12:30 pmClass members will work as an ensemble to create a brief, story-based drama that they will share with their parents at the end of the final class meeting. Designed to be a short experience with making a play, the class will include theatre games, music, and many opportunities to work with class mates as a team create a fun, informal short presentation.

DRAMA FUN FRIDAYS (For ages 4-6) Fridays – May 20, 27 and June 3, 10:30 am – NoonThese three class sessions are a perfect time to see if your homeschooler enjoys being part of a drama class. Come join us for stories, songs, puppets, and an active learning environment where creative expression takes many different forms.Pollyanna is also serving homeschool families in the Central Texas area by offering reduced prices for groups at weekday performances ofPollyanna’s full theatre season.Space is limited, and early registration for both classes and performances is encouraged by calling (512) 743-7966 or emailing pollytheatre@gmail.com.
