Friday Fragments #52 -- Jane, Stop This Crazy Thing!
Do you remember George Jetson screaming this at least once in every episode of "The Jetsons"? Something or another would have him spinning out of control or flying around. That is much how this week has felt. The out-of-control treadmill of home buying has me dizzy and nauseated. Since we last spoke, my parents went via proxy for us to see two more homes. We were still in San Marcos but a good possibility came up. Using the amazing technology that is FaceTime (thanks Apple - that is one you got right!), my parents and realtor walked us through. The first house was a bust but the second seemed a great option. So much so , that we wrote a contract that very day and signed it virtually. Yet another wonder of this brave, new world in which we live. And then we waited. It seems that both the agent and seller were out of town. What?!? You list a property and then immediately go out of town? Yeah, that's how I would do it.We waited some more.Wednesday morning, we woke to find that the offer had been rejected. They don't want to deal with VA loan. Down goes the roller coaster. But wait! Here's another listing. Right price. Turnkey. Can't see it until Saturday but it is likely to sell before then. So we wrote a contract that night without even having a FaceTime walkthrough. So the roller coaster is ticking back up.And again, we are waiting. It feels like we are sitting at the top waiting for another big drop. I'm not sure my heart can take much more. It is so hard to invest emotionally in a home and then be disappointed. If you have a candle to light for me, I sure wouldn't mind some good vibes on this!

Enough of that. Here is something fun. Little Diva made herself both model and photographer on my phone. She did a series of decade pics and here is one of her '80s. She looks so grown-up. Now for the record, I do not normally allow her to wear makeup. This was just dress-up fun. But looking at them, it makes me terrified for her teen years!I'm hearing "Girls Just Want to Have Fun" in my head right now.

Finally, I wish you all a happy Fourth of July weekend. Be safe and have fun! (just like Cyndi Lauper and my Little Diva!)
