Carrying Hope for Fire Victims in a Pink truck
Sometimes, something comes into my inbox that I cry with joy and hope for the human race. Okay, it's Christmas and I cry at everything, but nonetheless, this was so lovely, I decided to share it in its full form.
A fire in her heart to help those hurt in the Gatlinburg fire
I am a huge fan of Pink Truck, both personally and professionally, and I am proud to know Dana. She is a dynamite woman who has invested her time and money into a company that wants to add equality, choices and fun to the girl's clothing world (You can read the whole story here). And now she is bringing good into the world.

Pink Truck recently visited the Gatlinburg area for a trade show held right next to Dollywood.
And if you've been watching the news, you've seen how the worst fires to hit Tennessee in a hundred years have ravaged that area, killed several, and left hundreds of families homeless. I know what that feels like -- to lose your home to fire. My Boston apartment was destroyed by a 9-alarm fire in April 2000. Firefighters and the Red Cross came to my rescue that day, and a friend's couch became not just my bed, but my home.So when the news of Gatlinburg's devastation hit the news, I couldn't help but think of those colorful Smoky Mountains I visited in early November, and all of the people I met from that area. Are they safe? Are their homes and businesses in tact? Do they need help?I don't know. But I sure wish I could offer them my couch.Instead, I took to the Internet, in search of a fund established to help the victims of the fire. It turns out that Gatlinburg's sweetie - the one and only Dolly Parton - had set up a fund dedicated 100% to the families whose homes were destroyed by those fires.So in honor of all the wonderful people we met at the trade show in the Smokies a few weeks ago, the Pink Truck Hero Series™ is going to "pay it forward" this month in a new way. For every website sale made this December, we'll donate $1 to Dolly's fund. It may not be the thousands of dollars a month that Dolly herself has promised to give to those families, but trust me...when you've lost everything, every penny counts.That said, as crazy as it sounds, I'd like you to please consider not buying anything from Pink Truck this month; instead, please donate that amount to Dolly's fund. After all, it's Christmastime.In closing, we want to give a fond shout-out to the new friendships we made at that trade show, nestled in that hilly autumnal palette.
