A Star in My Own Universe

That Time I Met Santa in a Walmart

Do you believe in Santa? I do. Not just for my children but for myself. It always seems like there won't be enough for Christmas and each year, we are overwhelmed by blessings under the tree. I think the jolly old fellow with a bowl full of jelly might just have something to do with that.

I am a Stonyfield Yo-getter brand ambassador and was provided a $50 GC to #payitforward. The opinions are all mine. It is my Universe, after all.

#payitforward, Santa, Stonyfield, Walmart Now should you still have doubt, I want you to know that I have proof that Santa exists. I met him. Yes, yes, I did. I did not fly up to the North Pole. I met Santa in a Walmart in Galveston, Texas. Not a cheap polyester suited store Santa but the real thing. BTW, he wears a white t-shirt and red hoodie on his off days.I get it, you still don't believe me. I am in social media and I didn't post a single pic. How could I meet the real Santa and not post it to Instagram. Hey, I'm not outing the big guy in his everyday clothes. If he needs a day off from the snow and cold and wants to visit the 78° island, who am I to judge?

So how did I meet Santa in a Walmart?

Thanks to my friends at Stonyfield Organic, I had a $50 Visa GC to share. They wanted to create some holiday cheer by giving its Yo-Getter team gift cards to pay it forward. With my card, I wanted to ensure that no layaway was hanging in the balance. After walking to the back and learning that all the accounts had been paid and picked up, I continued with my own shopping. In the checkout line, Hubby leaned over and whispered, "go give Santa your card." I looked up and what did my wondering eyes see but a white-haired man with a white beard and a belly worthy of a lot of cookies and milk. Walking over to Santa incognito, I offered him the card to buy his purchases and share with another. Instead, he tells me that he gives out GCs in his days while building toys at night. Who knew?He accepted the card and assured me that the holidays just got brighter for a family. And isn't that the real spirit of Santa? Whether you light candles or string lights, we can all help spread the warmth of human kindness. So, yes, I met Santa in a Walmart. I bet you could, too. You just need to believe. Thanks Santa and Stonyfield for making my Christmas brighter. It truly does feel better to give than receive.
