This Tony-award winning show was the break-through piece of Lin-Manuel Miranda, now best known for Hamilton success. This innovative and non-stop energy explosion of a show brings together music and dance to tell the stories of one community over a hot 4th of July weekend.Expect drama as cultures and dance styles mix in this "Upper West Side Story".
ZACH Theatre is proud to announce the cast for Hamilton composer/playwright Lin-Manuel Miranda’s extraordinary, Tony Award winning, Broadway musical "In the Heights". With music and lyrics by Miranda and book by Quiara Alegría Hudes, In the Heights plays on stage in the Topfer Theatre May 31 – July 2, 2017 and is directed by Michael Balderrama, San Antonio-native and original Broadway cast member and dance captain of "In the Heights".

As You Like Your Austin Shakespeare
Okay, confession time -- this is one of my favorite plays and one I would still like to perform in someday. If you are longing for a little iambic pentameter, check out Austin Shakespeare's Young Shakespeare run of "As You Like It" at the Curtain Theater.
This show features the teen company which makes me even happier. Shakespeare often has the joy and fun taken out of it in high school english (no offense to those hard-working teachers - it's just that Shakespeare isn't meant to be read like books, it's meant to be lived and breathed on stage), so I am thrilled for these teens embrace the Bard and his diabolic humor.

Whether the Weather, I Love Pollyanna
One of my favorite children's theatre company, Pollyanna Theatre, is bringing back Whether the Weather – An Interactive Theatre Experience for Very Young Children by Bethany Lynn Corey this season.
A unique production, it is created for children 18 months - 5 years old. The show follows best friends, Sunny and Gus, as they explore the meaning of the British nursery rhyme. Your little one can discover each type of weather as the two travel through changing meteorological landscapes. while their friendship grows. Sunny and Gus learn that those we love and who love us are always by our side because they’ll “weather the weather whatever the weather.”
