Texas Renaissance Festival - Fun for the Family

Houston, Texas, What's Happening Nine weeks a year, northwest of Houston near Magnolia, lies acres of time warp fun. The Texas Renaissance Festival sits across lush acres in the woodlands where wenches, knights, and jesters alike wander. It is a magical feeling and was especially so on the beautiful Sunday afternoon we were there.#TexRenFest, Texas, travel, Texas Renaissance Festival

I received tickets to the Texas Renaissance Festival for the purpose of this review. The opinions are all mine. It is my Universe, after all.

Now if you wonder that kids might quickly bore of the costumes and shops, there are many activities scattered through out.  Word of advice, however, bring cash. Almost everything you will want to do requires cash and while there is an ATM, it is an expensive one.Among the fun was the public execution, yes at the Texas Renaissance Festival, a public execution is a fun thing. Just see...#TexRenFest, Texas, travel, Texas Renaissance FestivalLet me tell you, they could not have chosen better for my Little Diva. She is a princess and she is a potty-mouth (says this mother embarrassedly). Even Sonny-Bunny joined in and had his Thomas More moment.#TexRenFest, Texas, travel, Texas Renaissance Festival Nearby is a somewhat bizarre arcade including a game wherein you can throw "severed heads" at a set of pins like a baseball. There is also a teacup-like ride and a very modern bunjee jump - my daughter's favorite.#TexRenFest, Texas, travel, Texas Renaissance FestivalIt's hard to tell in the picture, but her smile is as big as her bounce! There is much, much more. The locale is divided into different countries and there are different themes throughout including theatres with live shows playing all day. Fairies and knights abound for photos. Tents host palm readers and sword makers. Even shopping is a unique experience with my daughter coming home with a unicorn marionette and my son with a broad sword. We really enjoyed our day and the Texas Renaissance Festival will be on our list of fall activities from now on.
