Building a Legacy - a McDonald's Love Story

What's your love story?

That is one of my favorite questions to ask. I love when a couple waxes rhapsodically about how they meat. When the words flow on top of each other and one interrupts the other to add the details that matter to him or her makes me smile to the bottom of toes. That is when love shines brightly.

Cindi and Jimmie Ferguson are that couple. Whether recounting the first time their hands touched or when they decided to join the McDonald's team, their yin and yang chemistry is clear with each smile, wink, and laugh. In other words, they aren't just in love, they are love.

I received compensation for this post.
All opinions are mine. It is my Universe, after all.

I had the pleasure of spending an afternoon with these two in one of their favorite places - a booth in their Metric Blvd. McDonald's location. These high school sweethearts have spent the last five decades building a life but also a legacy.

What do you think when you think McDonald's?

Cindi knows what you think and she wants to throw a little truth bomb. Jimmie has a Masters degree and taught at the college level. She was a successful real estate broker, They went into their Mickey-D career asan educated couple who saw an opportunity to create a local business building community and giving back to their customers.

Wait! Traci did you say local?

Yes. Most locations are individually owned and operated by locals who live and work in the community. And Cindi is proud of that. She positively beans with her Central Texas pride. She and Jimmie have created a second family with their employees - many of whom have stayed with them for 20+ years.

They are faithful people who take philanthropy as seriously as they do business. In fact, told me that was high on her reasons for choosing this career path, second only to a livelihood that will care for their family now and in the future. Through the 2nd generation, their son has followed his parents into the family business.

I loved, Loved, LOVED my time with these two Valentines.I married my high school love, as well, so I treasure seeing couples who started young making it through the test of time.

Enough of me telling their story. No one does a better job than they do -check out the true stars of this Love Story. Ali McGraw and Ryan O'Neal need to watch out.
