Let the “Sound of Freedom” Ring
On this holiday, freedom is a word we will all be saying a lot. How often do we contemplate the word? Not just the larger macro-definition, but the true daily sense of what it means to be free?
The film, “Sound of Freedom” opening in theaters today, looks at that very subject. There are people living among us that are not free. Their lives are not their own. their choices are not their own. Their bodies are not their own. And in all too many cases, they are precious children.

Slavery is alive and well
Did you know that human trafficking is on the rise? It's not just happening "over there". An estimated 5.1 million people are in modern slavery on any given day in the United States alone. Child sex trafficking has been reported in all 50 states. (https://ourrescue.org/sound-of-freedom)
What if it was your child?
The film follows the true life story of Tim Ballard (played beautifully by Jim Caviezel). After years of busting child traffickers, he decided it was time to find the children. Led by his faith and a big promise to a little boy, he and a few other equally brave and like-minded men set out against some of the worst of Columbia.
A very big promise
Tim was told over and over that the children are lost. That the mission was impossible. Not only did they save over 50 children, he changed the official United States policy regarding trafficking.
Much like Tim, this film has been told no over and over, as well. It was actually made five years ago. It has an excellent cast - Caviezel, mentioned above, Mira Sorvino, Bill Camp, José Züñiga, among others and the story is beyond compelling but studio after studio told them no one wanted to see a film about this subject.
Well, Angel Studios thinks they’re wrong. I do, too. That’s why I am supporting the efforts to get two million people to go see the film in theaters the week of July 4 to remember the two million children who are trafficked every year. #2MillionFor2Million
