Make Health #1 in 2024
Why do so many of us put our health so low on the to-do list?
Or is it just me? (Please don’t say it’s just me).

It is my Universe, after all.
We know how important it is, and yet we push it to the back of our minds and forget. It’s good to take care of your health, but we have to take care of all aspects, not just pick and choose which ones we choose to bother about. That’s not fair to our bodies, and it’s not going to work out in our favor in the end.
Think about health
Of course, we’re going to start with mental health. Despite how many times it has been said, mental health remains something that we don’t want to talk about enough. Too often, we don’t want to address it. The longer that we suppress these emotions, and the longer that we pretend it’s not a problem, the bigger the explosion will be. Trust me, when I say I have had a few.
Kaboom…
Mental health must be looked after to avoid any big problems. If you can feel yourself slipping, or falling back into patterns of self destruction, it’s time to make some changes asap. Speak to a professional, make more time with your friends, whatever it takes to pull that metaphorical wheelbarrow out of the rut.
Keep that smile
Oral health is important for several reasons, but not least of all a great smile. Everybody knows how much I love a great smile, right? And you probably won’t smile as big if you haven’t been taking care of your teeth. Ideally, we’re brushing our teeth twice per day a full 2 minutes (that’s where I fail a little) and flossing (I might fail some, there, as well). We are grown ups, we know why. Many of us have told children why, but after we have argued with others, loaded dishwashers, and dragged ourselves upstairs after falling asleep on the couch, somehow two minutes and floss seem as insurmountable as any Everest on Earth. Nonetheless, it matters.
Oral Health is related to overall health, not just a great smile. Heart disease and other serious illnesses are associated with gingivitis. So beyond keeping those whites pearly, visit a dentist every six months or so just to get a checkup. It never hurts to be on the safe side.
Jeepers Creepers
Let’s never forget to take care of those peepers. We often forget about them, but it’s important. If you are like me, you spend most of the day staring at screens of multiple sizes. Problems like eye strain account for a large portion of headaches in adults, so it’s always worth getting this checked out. A company like iRefract can help. They offer optical care for everyone, depending on their specific needs. If you’re not someone who knows how to take care of their eyes though, make sure you do some research asap because we can assure you it’s important to do so. Our eyes matter and we get one set for life - give them some love!
We have one body, one mind, one life, but it’s made of multiple pieces. Just like a puzzle you need each piece. Take care of them all.
