Making the Sale

I’ve been working on growing my traffic, so I can commiserate if you feel as though your hard work getting a great deal of traffic isn’t necessarily resulting in sales. Without sales, however, there is no business. I’ll assume you don’t want to slowly run your business into the ground, and as this is the last thing you want, we want to turn those clicks into ca-chings.

It is my Universe, after all.

#1 Your Traffic is the Wrong Type

If the traffic isn’t very interested in your product, then this is likely your chief reason you aren’t getting any sales. Maybe they searched very generic terms to come across your site or that they have found better elsewhere. Consider niching down so you don’t need to cast too wide a net. If you do then you may find that you struggle and that it shows.

Make the clicks convert to sales

#2 The Landing Page isn’t well… Landing

Another reason clicks that do not conversions could be because your landing page is disconnected from your site.A helpful tip is to ensure your landing page reflects the same message as your ads.Use the same wording and make sure the look is consistent. This should give you a bounce.

#3 Focus, Focus, Focus

When new shoppers come to your website, they want to be able to find what they want. It may be that you have a lot of unfamiliar icons and your footer is cluttered. It may also be that you have hidden menus. If this is the case…

Clean it up.

I know, easy said, but it is important to make sure that your site navigation menu keeps up with your company. Keep it clean and keep it easy.

#4 It’s Hard to Pay

Don’t get in-between a customer and their money!

Consider looking into API payment integration and that you are giving plenty of thought to your process. If you are asking too much, too often of your customers when checking out, this is a very good way for you to stop them from coming back to you. Don’t make the second sale harder than the first.

I hope this helps. I know I am working on my process. I’d love to hear what works for you.
