No Trust Falls Needed

I had an amazing weekend with some fabulous ladies. I have lots to share, but first I have to celebrate women who celebrate women!

We were given tickets to the Zip-line Course and Mountain Coaster.
All opinions are mine. It is my Universe, after all.

My new friends challenged me - in the very best way

I had a tough week before fighting some Covid-wanna be junk, We traveled to Ellicottville; one of the most charming Western New York villages I have ever seen. I will share much more soon. With that illness, in the close rearview, however, I was both excited and intimidated, when I heard that we were visiting Sky High Adventure Park.

They offer zip-lining, ropes courses, and a mountain coaster, among other options. I wanted to zip-line at first, but after the afore-mentioned week, my dysautonomia was saying “no, no, no”, even though I wanted to be “yes, yes, yes”.

I begged off the zip-lining, at first, and then planned on taking the lowest level course all by myself. Both times I was encouraged to join in and while, it was hard, I mean HARD (for me), and I was truly tired afterwards. I was SO glad that I did it. That is the benefit of having the kind of friends that wanted the best for me, which in this case was stretching myself. Every step of the way, they cheered me on and absolutely believed that I could do it, causing me to believe that I could do the same.

We moved to Buffalo seeking change and growth. It was another hard thing, leaving everything and almost everyone we knew. We believed, however, that it was what we needed. This little adventure was a reminder that we were right in that belief.

Find friends that make you be better

I am not always the bravest girl, as my friend, Julia, pointed out in good humor. She was laughing and sharing how she watched each of us come down the hill on the Mountain Coaster. It seems that everyone else flew down the hill, and despite my feeling very fast, I had created a traffic jam behind me. Alas, we are who we are! Nonetheless, I did the coaster and I recommend it.

I am thankful to Holiday Valley Sky High Adventure Park for this day of growth and adventure. I am also grateful for my new friends and my new home. I am better for both.
