Travel the World Thursday #2 -- Brunssum
It's Thursday and this week my son got to travel! My friend Dorothy from Far From Kansas truly is far from Kansas and she sent us a package from Brunssum. Sonny-Bunny was originally reluctant to join in the program but is now clearly excited to open up this package. He's even eager to write back!Included with her letter was a picture magnet. She is a terrific photographer -- check out her site -- and I love that we have a lasting memento of her work. (Please ignore the glare -- that is from my attempt to capture the pic, not from her work!)Here is a close-up:Don't know where Brunssum is? Neither did we, but that is part of the fun. My son and I googled it and found this:Brunssum is a town in the province of Limburg, The Netherlands. There is a NATO instillation which explains the sign. As it was a little hard to read, Dorothy included a translation in her letter. It says Welcome in Dutch, German, French and English. So, Dorothy, here is how my boy feels about the magnet. He is not letting go anytime soon. :-)Thanks!!!!We've been to England, California, and now The Netherlands. Here is the latest Fling. Where will we travel next?
