What's Happening -- Wildside Edition

Saturday was such an amazing day! As a Wildside Blogger, I was invited to the Just For Kids event at Seaworld San Antonio. We started at Rosita's to try out the Italian buffet. Now, I  don't know about you but I have been to more than one amusement park restaurant where I spent a lot of money and hated the food. I am happy to say that was not the case at Rosita's.  Rosita's is an Italian food buffet that offers pizza, pasta, and salad. As you can see, I got a little bit of everything: And I enjoyed every bit of it! I should have taken an "after" picture because that plate was empty! My daughter inhaled her two pieces of pizza, as well. My only complaint was with the dessert offering. I thought it was cinnamon pizza (my daughter's favorite) but it was actually a pudding pizza which was not a hit with her. Other than that, we truly enjoyed our lunch. I would definitely take my family there again. We then embarked on our Just for Kids adventure. To start, we got wristbands. Look how cool Little Diva felt after receiving it. This month, Seaworld has several special events going on. There is a concert series all month that includes Laurie Berkner, Imagination Movers, and Elmo Rocks. And did I mention Caillou? Yes, everybody's favorite four year old and his little sister Rosie are the stars of their own show. Now my daughter loves Caillou. So she was very excited. A fun element of the show is that the kids are invited down to the stage to dance and play! Here is my Little Diva joining in! After the show, we got to meet another favorite character, Franklin. But as happy as Little Diva was to dance, she would not take a pic with Franklin. So this Diva Momma stood in. And then the whole Wildside bunch swarmed this cool dude! Of course, Little Diva then decided it was time to join in. Sorry folks! (Thanks to fellow Wildsider Sara Doodle-Phillips for the picture!) We then headed off to collect our Just for Kids adventure cards, ride some rides, and visit some animals! We rode the Carousel:We rode Journey to Atlantis:We thought we got wet there until we headed to Rio Loco. The results speak for themselves! But with all this ride fun, its' easy to forget that at it's heart, Seaworld is an aquarium. In fact, a fun part of the Just for Kids event is a hunt for "Fun Facts" spread out throughout the park. There is a cute map highlighting the "Fun Stations".It really is an educational place. We learned fun facts like Killer whales are not whales at all -- they're dolphins. Who knew? The folks at Seaworld, that's who. And speaking of dolphins, here is Little Diva touching one for the first time at Dolphin Cove. And of course, it's not called Seaworld for nothing...Thanks, Seaworld for an amazing day!

I am proud to be a Wildside Blogger. Seaworld provides my family and I with an annual pass and allows us access to special events. All the opinions are my own.
