Shining the Star-Light #15 -- Houston Zoo

We had tons of fun when we visited the Houston Zoo earlier this fall.One of the things that made it truly wonderful, however, was the Houston Zoo military discount.From their website:

Admission to the Houston Zoo is free for active duty US military personnel and their families (limit 2 adults and 3 children per military family per day).  A valid US Military ID must be shown.  Offer not valid for ticketed special events. Also, present your Active US Military ID and receive 10% off any Houston Zoo Membership.

I cannot tell you what Discounts and Free Admissions mean to a family living on military pay. There are many family experiences we would never have were it not for wonderful organizations like the Houston Zoo to make it possible. If you know another great organization that celebrates our military, please let me know so I can shine the Star-Light on it.
