I was provided tickets for the purpose of this review. The opinions are all mine.It is my Universe, after all.

Last night, Little Diva and I had the immense pleasure to see "Disney's Beauty and the Beast" at Bass Concert Hall. Here we are before the show.Little Diva and I at #BeautyATXWe were so excited.  And wow, what a show!  Little Diva loves her Disney princesses and she wondered if it would be as good as the movie. I believe the answer is "yes!" The show includes all your favorite songs from the movie plus several wonderful new tunes. It is visually lush! In my preview, I shared this picture of the enchanted servants of the palace...the_enchanted_objects_of_disneys_beauty_and_the_beast._photo_by_amy_boyleso I expected a beautifully rich production but the picture did not do the show justice. The show was both a throwback to the days of the big musical number -- "Be Our Guest" alone was worth the ticket complete with a can-can and the "Gaston" number has a brilliant percussion dance using beer steins that was extraordinary -- with a modern twist as the set was constantly molding and changing. Actors rolled set pieces on and off, turning and twisting as new places were created. At times they even became gargoyles.  It combined the best of a large Broadway and an intimate black box production. The show offers music, dancing, and even puppetry. My daughter and I enjoyed it equally. Based on the enthusiastic applause at the end of each number and the standing ovation at the end, so did everyone else! It's playing all week. I give it a Four Star recommendation!
