Friday Fragments #57

Welcome to another installment of Friday Fragments or as I'd like to call it, "the funny things my 'tween son and my grown-woman-trapped-in-a-little-girl's-body daughter say".

***

Well, it's been coming for a while as previous posts, Sonny-Bunny has entered the 'tweens. Most days, we roll along but there are moments that he is overtaken by emotion. As a woman, I knew what to expect with hormones in girls. I was not expecting it with boys.Anyway, for whatever reason that was clearly not worthy of remembering, he was having a meltdown. He wanted something and we weren't giving in. Finally, he yelled "Fine! Well, I'm hungry. I need some waffles. I need to rage with waffles!" Needless to say, we disintegrated into laughter, uncontrollable laughter. The good news is he looked at us laughing and started laughing, too. For the rest of the week, we have served "Rage Waffles". I like the idea of rage waffles. Instead of "Leggo my Eggo", we can let go of rage! I think it might catch on. :-)

Do you watch "The Bachelor"? We don't but it's pretty hard to avoid. A commercial was on for the last episode where one of the girls ( I honestly don't know her name) broke down and needed medical attention. Little Diva says, "Now that's just ridiculous (which sounded more like re-wick-uh-less)! No boy is worth that. She should know that!" She still continues to tickle me with her wise understanding of the male-female dynamic.

Finally, I overheard this conversation between the two.Sonny-Bunny was playing a video game (SHOCKING, I know!). Little Diva was watching.LD: Do they know they're being controlled? (referencing the onscreen characters)SB: No.LD: So they think they're real?SB: Yes.LD: They have computer minds?SB: Uh... yeah.My daughter, the existentialist.***That's my Friday.
