Friday Fragments with Star It’s Friday and it has been quite a week since I fragged. Many of you know that I lost my grandmother  last Friday morning. It was a matter of hours after hitting publish here that it happened and I am still reeling a bit. There was a beautiful gathering of those who loved her on Monday, however, and I feel blessed that it happened during a break in our travels so I could be with family at the time.

It has left me feeling pretty nostalgic. Last night. my best friend since age nine and I watched the series, “The 80’s”. It was narrated by Rob Lowe and provided a multi-faceted look at the decade, good and bad. From Madonna to “The Day After” to Gorbachev, it is an interesting  watch. I came of age at the time and was shaped by the weird mix of optimism and fear bound up with a bright ribbon of consumerism.

Finally, I have to be thankful for the care my grandmother received in her final days. On Saturday morning with the loss of my grandmother fresh in my mind, I saw the lowest of low. Good Morning America Weekend showed a clip of women dressing as nurses to steal out of rooms of nursing home. I have no words… or at least not ones that I could say here.
