Friday Fragments with Star2Welcome to another installment of Friday Fragments where we share the thoughts, quips, and events of the past week. All of those things that don't quite make a post - "frags". I hope you will join me and share your tidbits. This week included talking animals, floods, flu and fondant. And did I mention My son is grounded from video games until Easter?

Things started out well. We won tickets to see "Zootopia". Can we say "awesome"? (Please hear that in a sing-song Oprah-style way.) You can see happy faces here. We all loved it and I recommend it to anyone whether they have kiddos or not. Thanks Insights by April for the tickets!

My daughter continued her Pinterest-ready skills, skills she did NOT inherit from me, and created a landscape from fondant.fondant, bakingThis followed her fondant Olaf.fondant, Olaf, #DisneySideAnd in case you missed her volcano cake...baking, science, homeschoolI am crazy proud of her. I wish I had some of her mad skills.

After all this baking, however, we descended into illness. NOT from the baking but from head colds. This resulted in too much TV watching and too much online shopping -- all thrifted but still too much. (And clearly a slightly-contagious case of saying "too" too often!) The good news I have lovely packages coming but lying around watching TV, my mind was allowed to drift.

Random things I think about...

Have you seen the commercials for Belsomra?  It is a sleeping aid that uses cat-like creatures to demonstrate awake vs. asleep. They are a little odd looking but that isn't what set my mind aflutter. Instead, it was an odd statement among the long list of warnings that all pharmaceutical commercials have. The soothing narrator's voice declared it should not be taken if you suffer from narcolepsy. Isn't that a little counterintuitive? If you have narcolepsy, would you want a sleeping pill? I can't imagine that you would. Hey narcoleptics of the world, let me know!I should not be left alone with Nyquil, TV, and shopgoodwill is the lesson learned from last week. Also, in my haze, Sonny-Bunny spent too much time on video games. MUCH too much and displayed some very bad behavior. Tween boys! The only words I have right now are "AACK!" and "pray for me".  He is now banned from video games until Easter Sunday. Basically he entered Lent whether he liked it or not. I worry about him becoming too attached to games and screens so I am holding tight on this one. I am happy to say, however, that he seems to be accepting his punishment and has given less pushback than I expected. Of course, we're only on day three...

We finally got some much needed rain. Unfortunately, it came all at once. As we sat watching the water swell, we had our eyes out for animals lining up 2 X 2![embed]https://www.instagram.com/p/BCwHe5ZTMYH/?taken-by=starpics[/embed]

Finally...

Don't forget to "spring forward" your clocks

spring forward, daylight savings timeWhen I was young I loved daylight savings time and couldn't wait for the change. Now as an overtired mom of two, I dream about that missed hour until we Fall Back. :-)
