What's Happening -- Think Fun Games

My kids have requested more Family Game Nights -- yay! I know these days won't last so I am seizing them. They want Game Nights, we will have Game Nights. And my friends over at Think Fun have made it a little easier. They let me try out "Zingo"...

Zingo!® Sight Words is a fun and interactive word game that brings fast-paced excitement and learning to the classic game of Bingo! Players learn to quickly recognize and read sight words, which are words with spelling that is not always straightforward. Sight words are the most frequently used words in the English language and make up about 50-75% of all written material. Learning and mastering sight words is a key step in becoming a successful, fluent reader. The sight words used in this game have been specially selected by leading educators as the most fundamental for reading development.

Zingo plays just like Bingo. I requested it for my five year old as we are beginning her work with sight words but when it came I got a wonderful surprise! It seems that my son's speech therapist uses it with him. My son actually jumped up and down; he was so excited! Yes, I just said that my nine year old jumped up and down to play an educational game. Here he is...Okay, not jumping up and down at this moment but he was pretty darn happy! And as a bonus, we also got to try "Mini Mouth"...

A fast-paced word race that is easy to take anywhere. This simple, creative, and fun game tests players’ speed and vocabulary as they compete to collect the most tiles by being the first to use the letters in a word. It’s great brain-building fun in a portable package.

This one was a little advanced for my nine year old and a lot advanced for my five year old so we made our own game. We used the tiles to create as many three letter words as we could. This was a fun alternative as they grow into the game. In other words, we still loved it!So a big fun thank you to ThinkFun. They were kind enough to provide the games for us to try. As always, the opinions are my own.
