Put the “Fit” in Fitness

We know it all too well: to reach our fitness goals we need to be consistent. However, if you’re like me, if you don’t like the activity or if the gym is easily accessible or affordable, it can be extremely challenging. And if you follow me, you know that I know that one size does NOT fit all. So let’s talk about how we can stay consistent no matter our personal and financial situation.

It is my Universe, after all.

Find a Gym That Meets Your Personal Needs & Budget

Going to the gym regularly is one of the best ways to ensure regular exercise. However, gym memberships can be expensive, SUPER expensive. Plus, not everyone has the time to go out for a workout. That’s why it is important to find a place that meets our needs.

Finding the Right Gym

For example, options like Fitness 19 are designed to offer the essentials at affordable rates, so everyone can fit fitness into their budget. Other gyms are open 24\7, which may make actually getting to the gym more possible.

Accountability Counts

Not everyone responds to the same motivators. Some of us need a partner. Others benefit from a class or a team so that those around us can keep us accountable. This is also a great way to make new friends! I know I prefer a class where I am missed. External motivation is strong for me.

However, if you have a chaotic life, you may prefer some peace and quiet in your workouts. You may prefer to make exercise a time dedicated exclusively to you. Solo runs or swims may be great options here.

Last but not least, consider hiring a personal trainer. Not only will a specialist help with accountability, but they can help avoid injuries, and track progress, adjusting exercise routine to your needs.

A Passionate Fit

Going to the gym isn’t the only way to get healthier and feel stronger! Certain disciplines can help you improve your flexibility, strength, and endurance without requiring a gym membership!

Take yoga, for example, this discipline is as old as time and continues to yield a cascade of benefits, from improving coordination and strength to boosting concentration, self-awareness, and mindfulness. Other options include Tai Chi, Pilates, and Calisthenics.

Take it Outside

Outside activities are good for body and mind

Choosing activities that allow outside time in nature isn’t just a great way to get in shape, but they are also great for mental and physical health! Activities like trekking, hiking, rock climbing, swimming, or mountain biking can help improve fitness and endurance while boosting mood, concentration, cognitive health, and emotional well-being. Additionally, an active lifestyle can help you better manage the symptoms of chronic pain, decrease inflammation, and boost mobility.

Always Remember: Done Is Better Than Perfect!

Remember that getting started is better than being perfect! There is no perfect way to get healthy or in shape. I have begun and ended many things. I have also restarted many times, as well. I can beat myself up about that or count all those days towards my health. Just keep trying.
